Have you ever been or heard or Geocaching?? Well let me tell you, it is a lot of fun! Jon’s friend Matt Pozack came in town the other weekend and we went geocaching for the first time. Let me tell you how to do it. Go to the website www.geocaching.com and type in your location. It will tell you where geocaches are that are around you. The cache we found was called “The Old Coffee Can”. We followed some GPS coordinates and drove about five miles away from our house. We landed in an old cemetery and found the coffee can in the woods on the edge of the graveyard. It was so cool! The can had all kinds of trinkets. You are suppose to sign your name that you were there and then take something out of the can and replace it with something else. I ran back to the car to find something to trade and came up with a bar of soap. We put the soap in a baggie and took out a little trinket that says “my first geocache”. It was great fun!

Another fun adventure that we have done with Matt is going to a Bat Cave on Lake Guntersville. We went at dusk and waited for the bats to come out. It said on the website that around 500,000 bats will fly out at dusk so we could not wait to see the action! Matt’s sister also came with us and we had a blast taking pictures and waiting for the bats. The cave was really cold and there were actually a ton of people there when we got there. Some man warned us that we might get pooped on when the bats start flying out so be careful. The bats started coming out around 7:45pm and it was pretty cool. We ended up seeing a lot of bat fly out of the cave and never got pooped on!
