Reynolds Christmas Decorations

We are really enjoying being in our house this year. I am sure most of you remember our 9ft Christmas tree (in our apartment) with colored LED lights and golden pine cones last year, which I am pretty sure you could see from space. This year we went a little (a lot) more sophisticated and put white lights on our tree with real ornaments. Jon's parents were so nice to give us a pre-lit 10ft Christmas tree and it is so wonderful! When we first put it together I thought it was way too big but I found a place for it and it looks great. O I love it!

Jon had big plans for decorating the outside of the house. He spent an entire weekend strategizing and placing the lights on the house. It looks awesome!

Lights are really hard to take pictures of.....I really tried!

Our front porch swing.....love!

The Mantel
So that is all for now. There will be many more pictures around Christmas. Thanks for checking in on us!

A Sunday Full of Pintrest

So this past weekend Jon went to his farm to go hunting and I got a girls weekend, which was so much fun. Saturday morning started off with a little house cleaning and then a couple of my friends and I went to the Delta Zeta Craft Show here in Huntsville. I did not find too much stuff but I walked away with this cute little jewel.....
We are a house divided :)
Sunday came around and I took Lilly on a 5 miles walk, up at Monte Sano. It is so beautiful up there!
While on our walk, I spotted some good dry sticks that I could use for a Pintrest project that I recently pinned. I grabbed a bunch of sticks and we headed home. Today I have made a few things from Pintrest so Ill give you a sneak peak of what I created........this is the beginning of our Christmas decorations. Enjoy....
I hung pinecones on a piece of thick yarn.....love!

Pinecone candle holders I love!!

I glued the sticks around the glass candle holder....so cute!
Well that is it....so far. There will be more to come after Thanksgiving once I really start decorating for Christmas. I cannot wait!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Roll Tide Roll

I am so excited about this weekend's game!

Halloween

Halloween is one of my most favorite holidays. It is such a fun time of year. The leaves are changing colors, the weather is getting cooler, football season is in full swing, pumpkins are out in the stores, the smell of pumpkin spice is everywhere and kids are getting their costumes ready for Trick-or-Treating. I guess it is a time when everyone, no matter how old, can act like kids again. I just love decorating the house for fall and putting pumpkins on the front porch.

This year I participated in a pumpkin carving contest at work. Can anyone guess what I carved..........an owl! Hooty-whoooo! It came out pretty good!

The Owl

Also this year, I got to dress up for work. I looked and looked for a good costume that was appropriate for work and this was the winner.......a bee! Wow I look ridiculous but it was fun! Jon dressed up too but I did not get a picture of him in his scary mask and black cape.
I'm a dork....I know!
This was our first year to actually have trick-or-treaters come to our door because last year we were in an apartment. I bought tons of candy in anticipation that we were going to have tons of kids....and we did! I am not sure who had more fun, the kids or Jon. The kids would knock on the door and Jon would throw on his scary mask, answer the door and growl. It was hilarious!

Lilly tried to dress up this year. I thought her Spider costume would still fit from last year but I was wrong, so she had to wear her pumpkin sweater. She had a blast barking at all the kids and sniffing the candy bucket.

Well that is about it from Halloween. I hope everyone had a spooktaculartime!

A few weekends ago Jon and I took a road trip to Butler Alabama to this beautiful hunting camp called Oakshia. Our friend Wiley is the hunting and fishing guide up there so he got to show us around the 5,000 acre plantation. It was fabulous! Jon did some deer hunting and I did some fishing around the ponds. We had a blast! Oh and Lilly did too!

Back to Work

The month of August has been very fun and eventful for the Reynolds household. At the beginning of the month I (Catherine) got an interview and got a job all in the same week. I am now working for the most wonderful government contracting company called Pinnacle Solutions in Huntsville. They specialize in the Black Hawk Helicopter so check out the website if you are interested http://www.psisimulation.com/ . I have my Masters in Exercise Physiology and never saw myself working in the corporate government contract world until now. All I can say is I LOVE MY JOB! So the big question is, what do we do about Lilly while Jon and I work??? Well Lilly now goes to Doggy Do. We can drop her off and she can play freely with other dogs during the day. We love that we have the option of bringing her somewhere while we work and not just put her in a cage all day. She LOVES it! Jon joined a city soccer league this month and is the goalie on the team. He is really good at it and his team is number one in their division which is the top division. I am so proud to have such an athletic husband! So our life has changed dramatically. Our mornings how consist of packing lunches, alarm clocks and ironing pants but we are so happy to finally both be working. Thanks for checking in on us!

Kayakin Boat Ridin Flashback!

This is my first time to blog on "Jon and Cats Adventures"!  This past weekend, Cat and I went up to the Ocoee River!  Firday night, we stayed with "O" so Famous Robert Smith!  We arrived just in time to go see the AWESOME fireworks that the Lookouts put on right after their home games.  Saturday morning came way to early since we gained an hour, but it gave us more time in the day!  When we arrived at the Ocoee, I put on the Upper Upper.  There is alot of folage in that area and makes for a very senic paddle.  The river then picks up speed through acouple class 2/3 rapids and then into the Olypmic section!  Cat was waiting on a rock when I showed up!  A few minutes later, here came Robert Smith with his rafters! They went straight thru Godzilla (BIG Rapid) and then right down the pipe into Humungus ( a BIGGER Rapid)! He made it clean!  We then ate lunch and continued down the river, meating Cat and Raven (Robert Smiths girlfriend) at Hell Hole (rapid).
After the awesome paddling, we then went to the Ocoee Lake!  Robert Smith has a REALLY NICE  Ski boat!  He took Cat and I out along with his girlfriend, Raven!  We stayed on the water till 10:00 Saturday night!  We had really good time!We then packed up and headed to Chatty.
                                                                 Robert and Raven!
Robert going off the rope Swing!
This is me in the boat!  I look like a Nascar Driver in a boat! I think I'll keep the hair due!
                                                                   Me and Cat!
                                                                         Pretty Sky
What a Mountainous View from the Lake!
                                                               Cat and Raven
This reminds me of a painting?
The next morning we said our good byes to Robert Smith and we went to Chickamauga National Park.  Chickamauga is a Civil War Battlefield. On Sunday, the park had a small reinactment that took place.  Odly enough, the Union Solder that fired cannon looked just like my friend Charlie Mix!
Union Soldiers shooting the Cannon! BOOM!   To my surprize it was my old friend Charlie Mix.  Charlie works at the park as a ranger of some sorts.  He took us on a detailed tour and showed us all around the Park! it was great! We learned that President Lincolns brother-in-law died at this battle! He was also fighting for the confederacy!  Pres. Lincoln then took in his Widowed sister-in-law which created contreversy in the White house! This also sent Pres. Lincoln into mourning!
Me and the Union Soldier that looks like Charlie Mix?

Union soldier (Charlie Mix) and Cat!
                                                                     Beautiful View!
Me and the Real Charlie Mix!
                                                                   Me and Cat!
To the right is Lookout Mountain! We said goodbye to Charlie and soon after our tour, we headed home to Huntsville, Al to start another week at my WONDERFUL job!  Life is great with the love of my life, Cat! -Jon

Baby Luke Pulliam

My best friend Britney and her adorable husband Jeremy are having their first child in September. I cannot wait to meet Luke Ryan Pulliam!! He is going to be so cute. Recently a few of us threw Britney a baby shower and so I wanted to share a few of the pictures from that day.
