9 Months

The last month has finally come and we (or I) cannot be more excited to meet our bundle of joy and not be pregnant anymore! Time really flew by this last trimester which was awesome! This month has consisted of a lot of rest! Last month was full of showers, decorating, running around like crazy and so I told myself that this month would not be like that. I got a pedicure a couple of times, went to bed early ( between 8-9pm), ate really good food, enjoyed some TV shows and caught up with good friends. Everyone told me to enjoy the last few months of quiet and let me tell you, I DID!!

The doctor visits become a lot more frequent and I was going every Friday at 11am. I actually loved going to the doctor because I got to hear the heartbeat, got to see how much I had progressed and it really got us excited about the BIG DAY!

All the doctor visits went great! By my last one I had gained 26 pounds, baby's heart rate was a steady 150-160bpm, my blood pressure consisted of 100/58, no swelling and felt great with lots of energy!! On week 37 I had my cervix checked to see if I was dilated and I was not so I was sent home with the orders to be more active and do more walking. So I did and it worked because on week 38 I was 2cm dilated and partially effaced. Doctor Tallent and I then talked about being induced. Oh, besides the good news about  being dilated, Jon came with me to this appointment which was his first time going to the "girl" doctor. He was a little anxious about what was going to go on but he did great! SO we talked to Dr. Tallent about being induced and decided to go ahead with it the following Wednesday. We left the doctor with orders to relax, eat a good meal, enjoy our "last" weekend together as a family of 2 and to come back on Tuesday to get our hospital stay booked. We could not have been more excited!! A lot of people asked us why we decided to be induced and here is why: the baby was going to be too big if I was to have him/her naturally, my body was probably not going to have the baby any time soon because he/she was so tight up in there so we decided to go for it! Honestly it was the BEST decision ever and I would encourage people to do it! As many of you know, I am a big planner so knowing that we were going to have the baby on a certain day was music to my ears! My family could plan to come up from Daphne and be with us which was a huge blessing!

After we left the doctors office we called our family and headed home to relax and enjoy the weekend together!

Here I am at 38 weeks:

8 Months

The month of March was pretty insane with all the fun activities we had going on and moving into our house. April has been a much more quiet month but things are still busy. My mom came back in town for a few more baby showers so it was great to have her back for a few days!

The first weekend in April was our shower at Jon’s dad’s church in Huntsville in the morning and my friends from work threw us a shower in the afternoon. They were both so nice!!  The church shower had fabulous food and the flowers were beautiful on the tables. The ladies really out did themselves! We got some really great gifts and with all the gift cards we got to finish out our registry. We feel like we have everything we need which is a comfortable feeling.

The work shower was super fun! It was at Jill’s house and it was very relaxing. They grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and had some wonderful side dishes. We played some really fun games and got to just hang out. The weather could not have been more perfect so we spent a lot of time outside. They showered us with diapers, onsies and bath stuff which was FABULOUS!!! We wont need to buy diapers for a VERY long time!!! We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends!!!

The showers all came to an end and we got to set up the baby room and put all of our wonderful gifts up. It was so fun to go back through everything and look at all the fabulous gifts we got from all the showers. Our Little Reynolds is going to be set when he/she makes an appearance into this world! The month we are concentrating on “us” and enjoying the down time we have before the baby comes. We are working on our relationship and enjoying our alone time and sleeping as much as possible. Everyone has told us to enjoy this “quiet” time so that is what we are doing. We still have to complete the baby room but that is coming together just fine and we are enjoying it!

Baby Update: So I am now going to the doctor every 2 weeks. Nothing has really changed this month but I am growing like crazy, about a pound a week. I have gained 21 pounds, baby’s heartbeat is still in the 160’s, my stomach has grown 5 inches from last month’s measurements which is good, I am not uncomfortable at all, I have to pee all the time (especially at night), no swelling in my hands or feet and no crazy cravings. Things are going really good!!
