4th of July Vacation

Jon and I took a week vacation during the week of the fourth to visit family. We started our vacation at Jon’s parent’s lakehouse on Lake Wedowee. We did some swimming (not Beau), laying out, relaxing, watched TV and searched for blackberries. Jon’s parents gave us the best gift ever, a few nights of sleep! They kept Beau upstairs in their room and let us sleep downstairs with peach and quiet! It was a much needed break. Beau was a pretty good sleeper at this point. He was only waking up once a night which was normally around 3am. He would also wake up between 7-8am for another feeding. This was a great start to a great week of vacation!

Monday morning we woke up and headed south to Daphne, Alabama where my parents, my brother and Jon’s brother lives. We had a big week planned and could not wait to get down there. It was great to see my parents and brother. They loved seeing Beau and spending time with him. My mom kept Beau on Tuesday afternoon while Jon and I went to the beach. We had a very relaxing afternoon on the beach in Perdido Key. The water was crystal clear and the sand was really white. We really which was lived closer! That night Jon and I took Beau to Chris and Kelly’s house to visit. They cooked us a yummy steak dinner and we got to hang outside for a bit. It was so good to see them again!

On Wednesday I got to spend the day with mom while Jon went down to the beach again to visit a friend. It was great being able to spend some time with mom and Beau. We did some shopping and then she kept Beau in the afternoon while I went to get my hair cut and highlighted. Thursday was the 4th of July and we decided to relax and hangout around the house. This was the only day that dad could really hangout with us because he was working all the other days. He got to spend some good quality time with Beau while mom and I stepped out to Target. Matt came over to visit and that night he went with us to the fireworks down in Fairhope. We were unsure how Beau would do with the loud fireworks but he just sat there and watched (well as good was babies can see). It was a fun low key night!

On Friday my Aunt Becky and Uncle Billy came in town to see Beau for the first time. It was so great to see them!

Saturday we loaded up the car for the long 6 hour drive back home. Beau slept almost the entire way so it was not bad at all. He is really good in the car!
