Snow Days 2014

At the beginning of this week we did not know that we would be having three days at home together. Sunday night Jon and I were watching the news and the weather man was calling for a big snow storm to hit Huntsville Monday night and again on Wednesday night. We decided to go to the store and stock up on food for the week and I'm so glad we did! We went to work Monday in anticipation that we would be off work on Tuesday. We woke up on Tuesday and looked outside and saw this beautiful sight!

Obviously we were not going anywhere so we made some coffee and turned on the TV to see what the news had to say. All the schools were closed and they were telling people to stay off the roads so once Beau got up we headed outside! We took him on a wagon ride so he could check out the snow. He enjoyed it!

We did not stay outside for too long because it was so cold. That afternoon we went back outside again to build a snowman. The snow was melting fast so we had to hurry!

That night the rain moved in and melted all the snow. The weather man told us that round two of the storm was going to come mid-day Wednesday and not to let the rain fool us. They closed all the schools again, the Arsenal, all businesses and told people to stay home. The prediction was for us to get 5-6 inches along with lots of ice. Wednesday turned out to be a very wet and rainy day until 3pm when the snow began. The snow came down hard and kept falling until 10:30 that night. It was beautiful! Jon and I were up watching the Olympics so we put on our coats and went outside to enjoy it!

The next morning (Thursday) we woke up to the most beautiful view! We could not wait to get out there!

One thing I did not mention was on Wednesday morning when we got Beau out of bed we noticed that he had a full body rash. He had horrible red bumps all over him. The only thing that we changed was we gave him fresh blueberries the day before for the first time so guess that is what caused it. He did not know he even had the bumps. I called the doctor and she said if he did not have a fever and they did not itch then don't worry about it. We let the bumps run their course and they were gone the next day. They sure looked bad!

Our three days at home together were fun. We were sure ready to spread our wings and get out of the house after the roads were clear! Love time with our little family!
