5 Months

Beau has brought so much joy to our life and each month we think that it cannot get any better but it does. He is growing up so fast and into such a little fun man. He is really in the laughing and smiling stage which just melts our heart. He will smile at anyone he sees and it is the most precious smile I have ever seen.

I will highlight the big things this month:

·        Eating- Beau is eating solid foods and loves them! His favorite right now is sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, pears and bananas. He does not care too much for the green colored foods like peas, green beans and avocado so I will have to work on those with him. He cannot stand to eat the cereal by itself so I will mix it into his food and he never knows the difference. He still takes a bottle after every time he eats which he still loves. He sits in the Bumbo seat to eat and we are about to transition him to his high chair because his legs are getting too fat for the bumbo.

 

·        Sitting- Beau is not sitting by himself yet but will sit with little assistance. We will hold his legs or hips and he will sit and play with toys. He loves to sit up to play.

·        Standing- Beau is not standing up by himself but he can stand up while being propped up on a table or couch. He LOVES to stand up and will smile and laugh every time. Jon will stand him up on his lap and it is his most favorite. He will jump while he stands up so I guess the Johnny Jump up is teaching him jumping skills.

·        Bath- We have transitioned him out of the bath seat to nothing at all. I will get in the tub with him and he will sit in the water with little assistance. He loves to splash his hands in the water which gets everything wet. He also loves to reach for the rubber ducky’s or toys that I put in the water. Bath time is one of his favorite times of the day. He will take a bottle after he gets out of the tub and will go straight to sleep.

·        Sleep- Beau is still sleeping all night (12-15 hours) and we could not be happier about that. He can sleep in both his bed and hammock but still prefers his hammock. I think he likes the comfort of having something snug around him. He always takes naps on his tummy during the day in his bed or pack-n-play at Mrs. Pats and those typically last for about 2-4 hours every day. We put him in his footed PJ’s to sleep so he is nice and warm. I love how he sleeps so well!

·        Car- Beau tolerates the car pretty well. He likes his car seat but does not like to be strapped in for a long period of time. He will hold his little blanket and look around and sometimes will fall asleep.

·        Daily Activities- Beau loves to jump in his Johnny Jump Up, loves to play on his activity mat and reach for toys, loves balls, loves to sit in his bouncy chair and kick which makes it bounce up and down, loves to go for walks outside in the stroller, loves to sit on the counter and watch me cook while in his bouncy chair, loves to lay in his bed and look at his mobile which plays music.

 

·        Body Parts- Beau’s hair is coming in full and blond which I love, his fingernails grow so fast and we have to cut them when he falls asleep, he has the cutest little fat rolls on his arms and legs, his eyes are blue, he has long toes, round big head and cutest lips.

·        Sucks his first two fingers on his right hand when he gets hungry or tired.

Our little boy is so special to us and the most perfect baby in the world!
