Beau's First Time at the Camp

This past weekend Jon and I took a trip with Beau down south to visit my family and attend our annual fishing tournament that is held every year at our camp. We left the house at 6pm Thursday night and made it to my parents’ house at around 11:30pm which was great timing. Before we left the house, I gave him a bath and bottle so he was all ready to sleep in his car seat. Beau slept the entire way which made the trip extra easy. Beau was actually not the only one in the back seat asleep. Jon worked really hard that day and decided that Beau needed a friend in the back so he brought a pillow and slept right alongside him. It was not bad for me because the car was quiet which was really nice. Speaking of Beau’s car seat, we got him a brand new seat right before we left. He had out grown his infant seat and we knew that this was the best time to purchase a new one for him. His car seat now can hold up to 110 pounds so it should be the last one we will have to purchase for him. It is so nice!

When we arrived in Daphne my parents were asleep but got up to greet us. They had not seen Beau in over 2 months so you can imagine how excited they were to see him. They could not get over how much he had grown! Friday morning we all got ready to leave for our camp around 9am and I could not wait to get there. It is by far my favorite place on earth. There was a lot of cleaning and setting up to do for the tournament the next day so we were busy. Beau was not too thrilled about his life jacket but did not mind the boat ride at all. He liked the wind in his face!

Beau spent his time jumping in his Jump-Up, sitting in his bouncy seat, eating, letting people hold him, sleeping and enjoying the outdoors. He spend every day from morning to night outside and loved every second.

Everyone who came up there just loved seeing him and could not get over how big he was. He was such an easy baby up there. Never cried unless he was hungry or tired. He slept all night and would take 3 hours naps in the afternoon. He was so sweet!

He had his first bath in the sink which was really cool because we were all bathed in that same sink growing up!

Jon and I fished for about 3 hours on Saturday and then went to the camp to help set up and cook. It was actually more fun talking to everyone that fishing this year. Mom had Beau occupied and loved her time with him. He really got spoiled this weekend! The tournament was a huge success. We had over 60 people come and about 25 boats that entered so the place was packed! It is always such a fun weekend and we are always sad to go home. The weather could not have been more perfect. The days consisted of 86 degrees/sunny and the nights were in the 60’s so it was awesome. Time really fly’s when you are having fun!

On our way home we stopped by to see Jon's brother Chris and his wife Kelly. It was a very short visit but lots of fun!

The next day was Columbus Day and I had the day off. Beau stayed home with me which was good because he was exhausted! He took a few naps and caught up on his sleep! It was such a great weekend!
