Outside Fun
Our little family has enjoyed the summer so much! We spend
almost every afternoon outside together. Beau will swim in his outside blowup
swimming pool, play in his sandbox, play in the hose sprinkler, and walk around
naked looking at the veggies and even eating his dinner on the back porch. We
are warm weather people and not sure what we will do when the weather turns
cold!
4th of July Weekend
This year we spent 4th of July at the lake house
with Jon’s family. Every other year we have gone down to Daphne to spend it
with my family at our river house but with Beau being so active we did not want
to travel that far. We had a great time at the lake. We went down on Thursday
afternoon and stayed until Sunday so we really got to relax. Beau did some
swimming in the lake for the first time and loved every second of it. He took
the best naps over there because he was so worn out. Jon’s cousins keep their
pontoon boat at the boat dock there so we went out on the boat with them every
day. We went tubing, watched fireworks, heard some bands play on the water and
enjoyed some joy rides. Lake Wedowee is not a busy lake but there were a lot of
people out this weekend.
The firework show on the water was spectacular! We took the
boat to see them and there were tons of other people out there which was so
cool. We ate some great food, slept in, swam and visited some of Jon’s family.
My birthday is July 1st so we celebrated that a little bit with a
strawberry cake from Edgars Bakery in Birmingham which is my most favorite cake
ever! I ate it breakfast, lunch and dinner every single day. I could not help
myself! Sandy sure knows a way to my heart!
The weekend was wonderful and we cannot wait to go back!
First Hair Cut
Beau’s hair was getting really long and actually looked like
he had a mullet so we were due to get him his first haircut. I was excited
about his new short hair but Jon was reluctant because he likes for little boys
to have longer hair. We talked about it and decided he needed a cut so the hair
can all grown out evenly. The cut looked so good on him and we kept a few hair
snips as a souvenir. Beau was so good while the lady cut his hair. Mrs. Kimmy
came so she could take some pictures and she also brought some fun toys so Beau
could concentrate on them during his cut. She sure saved the day with those
toys! The haircut was just precious after it was all done!
Pennington, AL
My parents recently purchased some land in Pennington, AL
which is near Butler. The land came with a small cabin so my parents are in the
process of adding on, to make it big enough for all of us to come stay. This
will be where we deer and turkey hunt so we are super excited about it! Beau
thought the construction was really cool. He walked through the framework,
around the yard and a bulldozer came to level the ground around the house so
Beau thought that big machine was magnificent. It was such a fun weekend!
1st Steps
Beau turned 13 months old and started walking. He was a
really fast crawler so now he is a really fast walker. This phenomenon happened
while we were at the lake house with Jon’s family for his granddads 100th
birthday. What a special time it was for Beau to start walking and all of his
dad’s side of the family to watch.
Beau walked to his PopPop and took about 15 good steps by
himself and of course the entire room started yelling! Sandy, or Nana, got it
on video which is super special. From then on, Beau walked all around the house
and it was just amazing to watch. What a fun experience!
