Fish River Christmas Tree Farm

If I could pick one thing that I miss about Huntsville it would be all the fall festivities. We loved going to the local farms to see the animals, ride the hay rides, pick out pumpkins, pick out our Christmas tree, etc. They really had a lot for kids to do outside in the fall and it was wonderful. I wanted to find something similar near Daphne for us to take Beau to. I saw online that people were going to the Fish River Christmas Tree farm to pick out their trees, ride the train around the farm and see the animals. I asked Dad and Matt if they wanted to go with us and they said sure. Mom was in New York with some students so she was out of town. I thought this experience was going to be great but it did not go as planned. The train ride was full, Beau hated Santa Clause, there were not many animals and he was not in the best mood. We quickly left and took him to the Fairhope park. He perked up and enjoyed playing for about an hour. I don’t think we will be going back unless we are buying a Christmas tree.

Fairhope Christmas Parade

Uncle Brown took us to the Fairhope Christmas parade. We met him at his house and he drove us downtown for the festivities. We went to his friends store called Sadies and got to play inside with the kids before the parade started. It was perfect! Matt’s friend Ricky has a little girl a little younger than Beau but they played so well together. We were happy to be able to be somewhere that has a bathroom and heat while we waited. Beau loved the parade, well half of it. He sat on Brown’s shoulders and enjoyed the bands and floats. He did not care anything about the throws but I collected a few things for him to take home. About halfway through the parade he was ready to go back inside and play. So we watched the parade through the windows and Beau enjoyed the toys. We are so thankful that Uncle Brown took us!

Thanksgiving at the Lake

This year we had Thanksgiving at the lake with Jon’s family. Chris and Kelly met us there and we had a great time. We watched a lot of football, Jon hunted, played outside and relaxed together. It was much needed. We wanted to make sure to get some good pictures this year so I brought my good camera and took some great pictures. Kelly is pregnant so we wanted to document her belly and get some good pictures of Beau. They turned out great!

Pink Eye

Once the weather turns cool it seems that Beau always gets sick. Last year we dealt with ear infections, colds and congestion. It seems that his year will be no different. MeMe picked Beau up from school and saw that his eye was so puffy that he could hardly see out of it. I quickly took him to the doctor and he was diagnosed with pink eye. It never really bothered him but he sure looked like someone socked him in the eye. The doctor gave us some good eye drops that cleared it right up. But it did move from one eye to the other so we know now to make sure to put those eye drops in both eyes even if the other one does not seem to be infected. Our boy is so tough!
